Appointments
If you ask for an appointment we will try to offer you one as soon as possible at a convenient time. You can make an appointment by phoning 01604 713223 / 722314. Wherever possible we will ensure that you are booked with your regular dentist, however due to certain circumstances this may include being seen by another dentist, depending on appointment availability and treatment required.
Cancellations
If you are unable to keep your appointment please let us know as soon as possible so that we can allocate the appointment to another patient. Missed appointments waste NHS time. If you miss more than two appointments and give less than 24 hours notice, we may not be able to complete your treatment or offer you NHS care in the future.
Reminders and Recalls
At the end of your course of treatment, your dentist will discuss with you when you will need to see them again. NHS dentists now follow guidelines issued by the National Institute for Health and Clinical
Excellence (NICE). This means you will be advised on how often you will need to attend to keep your teeth and gums healthy. On telephoning the practice to arrange an appointment we will endeavour to find a time and day appropriate to fit with you and your family. Therefore, it is the patient’s responsibility to attend regular visits according to advice from their dentist to maintain their oral health.
Out of hours care and urgent treatment
Urgent treatment will mean treatment that the dentist considers necessary to relieve severe pain or prevent your oral condition deteriorating before you can make a normal appointment. Our practice policy is to offer a small number of appointments during practice opening hours for patients who need urgent treatment, but do not have an appointment. If you think you need urgent treatment and do not have a regular Dentist you can contact the Oasis Dental Care 01604 639296 for urgent treatment and care.
If you need urgent treatment outside of our opening hours you can contact the Northampton Out of hours dental service on 07770 445650. This number and advice are also provided on the practice after hour answering machine. |
